Instruction

  • Battery Required: No
  • Assembly Required?: Yes
  • Assembly Instructions: 1. Select a convenient location and position the holder so that the tube tip will be about head high to the bird. The holder is meant to be mounted on the outside of the cage; if mounted inside the cage the bird can destroy the stopper and bottle.2. If the tube is too wide to fit through bars of cage, cut out or spread cage wires apart for the tube opening.3. There are 5 parts to the holder: Holder backstrap; Locking bracket with wire clamp; Pedestal Mount; Mounting Washers (3 each); Screw and Locking nut (2 each).4. Place a screw through the top hole of backstrap, through the locking bracket, and place against the cage. Caution: Make sure the locking bracket is mounted with the cutout notches facing downward. When correctly mounted the wire should stop horizontally when lifted with one finger. Place against cage and put the screw through a mounting washer on inside of the cage. Turn a locking nut onto screw, you will only be able to hand tighten a few turns. A screw driver and wrench or pliers are needed to completely tighten the nut. This is to protect your pet so the nut can't be removed.5. Attach the mounting pedestal to the bottom slot of backstrap, the two holes will line up. Put the screw through the holes of the backstrap and pedestal, put a washer behind the backstrap before putting against the cage, and put screw through it. Put the last washer on inside of cage and run the screw through it, apply last locking nut and tighten with screw driver and wrench.6. You can reverse the direction of screws/nuts if you do not want the nuts inside of the cage. For safety you may want to cut off the mounting screws flush with the lock nut with hacksaw or nippers.7. To lift the wire bail to put bottle in holder or to remove it, press inwards on both sides of the bail wire near the cut-out notches and lift up. The locking tabs can be bent inward or outward with pliers to increase or decrease the locking action. Remember if it is too easy to lift the wire your bird may also do so and drop his bottle out of the holder, especially birds that are allowed to roam outside of their cages.
