Aquatop's Eliminator UV Series is the perfect solution for your clarification and sterilization needs. The Eliminator UV Series aids in controlling unwanted algae blooms and helps eradicate free-floating parasites such as Ich. With a specially designed internal baffling structure, the unit forces water to pass by the UV unit multiple times before exiting back into a body of water. Each unit is compact and easy to use. Simply cut the stepped hose adapters to the appropriate tubing size, connect hoses, add hose clamps and plug in. Suitable for both Fresh and Saltwater use. The Eliminator UV Series helps terminate aquatic pests and delivers crystal clear water.

Instruction

  • Assembly Instructions: Aquatop recommends installing the unit where it will not come in contract with water. Aquatop recommends installing the unit in such a manner that there are no kinks in the connecting hoses. 1. Place the eliminator UV unit in an area where it will not come in contact with water or in direct contact with the elements (i.e.. rain, direct sunlight, or high/low temperatures, etc.)2. Install the intake stepped/barbed fitting if needed cut to appropriate sizea) Place the gasket/O-ring onto the flange of the stepped/barbed fitting. Aquatop recommends using silicone O-ring lubricant to create a watertight seal (not included). b) Place the stepped/barbed fitting and gasket onto the threaded opening on the UV chamber3. Slide the threaded nut over the stepped/barbed fitting and tighten. Aquatop recommends hand tightening only. If the fitting is tightened too hard or too much the threaded nut may leak. 4. Repeat steps 2 3 for the output/discharge fitting. Aquatop does not recommend reducing the output/discharge fitting. The output/discharge tubing must be at least as large as the intake tubing. 5. Secure the intake and output tubing with hose clamps6. Turn on the unit supplying water to the unit7. Plug the eliminator UV into a GFCI electrical outlet only

Safety

  • Caution: 1. A drip loop must be used with all electrical aquarium devices. A drip loop is a self-made part of the cord hanging below the receptacle. 2. A GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) should be used in the branch circuit supplying all power to water pumps and electrical aquarium equipment. If you do not have a GFCI we strongly recommend having a qualified electrician install one prior to operating any aquarium component. 3. Do not plug into extension cord/power strip4. Use this product for its intended use only 5. Never yank or pull the cord from the electrical outlet6. Do not operate if the plug or wire is damaged7. Do not operate without water8. Verify that hands are dry prior to disconnecting the power9. To reduce the risks of electrocution, keep all connections dry10. For indoor use only11. If the product falls into water, do not reach for it. First, unplug the unit. then retrieve the unit from the water. If any of the electrical components get wet, unplug immediately. 12. Do not use soaps or detergents when cleaning this device. Thoroughly clean and rinse with warm water and make sure the device is completely dry before connecting. 13. Do not disassemble the UV lamp while connected to power or turned on14. Do not look directly into the UV lamp when plugged in. UV light may damage your eyesight. Always keep cover on when UV light is in use.
  • Safety Warnings: Protect your eyes from exposure to UV light, under no circumstance should you look directly into the UV lamp when plugged in. Ultraviolet light is harmful to unprotected eyes and can damage your eyesight. Never change/replace the UV lamp while the unit has power. Never perform any type of maintenance when the unit is plugged in. UV light will damage your eyesight, possibly causing temporary to permanent loss of eyesight.
